Treasure House of the Free State

The Treasure House of the Free State is a new cultural site on the banks of the Rezekne river at the very castle hill created to summarise and make publicly available information about military, civil and other awards of the First Independent State of Latvia as well as various organisations that are related to the activities of governmental and civil institutions during the period from the Latvian War for Independence to the World War II.

The exhibition hall presents several hundreds of various historical findings from Latvian and foreign private collections that cover the period from 1918 to 1940, uncovering pages of the book of history of Latgale and Rezekne.

The exposition was shaped considering the most important modern trends; visitors can try medals on virtually and take actions at digital stands. In its turn, the second floor is for temporary expositions.
