From October 3 to 10, the Latgale Embassy GORS will host the 11th International Organ Music Festival “ORGANismi”.

The festival first took place in Rēzekne in October 2015, showcasing the diversity and possibilities of the organ as a concert instrument. The festival’s artistic director is Rēzekne-born organist Iveta Apkalna, recognized as one of the world’s leading solo instrumentalists.

The festival was born following the acquisition of the digital organ “Johannus Eclessia” in 2014, making the Latgale Embassy of Culture GORS the first concert hall in Latvia where the new instrument allowed for a wider musical repertoire and new forms of collaboration.

Playing with the words organ and organisms, the festival organizers explore previously undiscovered possibilities of interplay between organ music, other arts, centuries, and styles (Latgale Embassy GORS).
