Pēteris Džigurs – Ink Drawing Exhibition “Skani, Dvēsele skanīgā!”
In June, visitors to the lecture hall of the historic building of the Latgale Culture and History Museum are invited to enjoy the ink drawing exhibition “Skani, Dvēsele skanīgā!” by Pēteris Džigurs.
Exhibition opening event is not planned.
Graphic artist and painter Pēteris Džigurs (1944) is known for his philosophical approach to artistic creation. This is reflected in symbols and signs that, within mathematically balanced compositions of lines and forms, conceal deep and personal reflections. In this exhibition, the artist presents 20 ink drawings, which he describes as follows: “They are like ideas for monumental art that could be painted on the walls of buildings.”
Viewed as mural sketches, these works reveal the strength of the artist’s vision and the harmonious relationships of form and space, conveying the mission of monumental art – to capture and generalise the signs of the times.
When: 03.06. – 05.07.
