On 13 July at 5:00 PM, the Art Gallery of Latgale Embassy GORS will host the opening of Ilze Griezāne’s exhibition “Ideālās ainavas meklējumos”.

The exhibition brings together landscapes created by the artist over different years and seasons, revealing her long-standing dialogue with the nature of Latvia.

The exhibition will be on view at Latgale Embassy GORS from 13 July to 26 August 2026.

➤ “Ideālās ainavas meklējumos” explores painting and its ability to remain relevant in an era when artistic forms are constantly evolving. Ilze Griezāne’s works demonstrate that landscape painting can still be contemporary, emotionally engaging, and intellectually stimulating. Her landscapes reveal a poetically national vision of the world that endures beyond social, political, and technological change, reminding us of the enduring bond between people and nature.

➤ Ilze Griezāne has been an active participant in Latgale’s artistic life for more than twenty years. Her creative career includes over 25 solo exhibitions throughout Latvia, participation in international plein air workshops, and active involvement in the Latgale painters’ association V.I.V.A., where four artists collaborate in a creative search for and expression of an ideal artistic vision.
