One of the true jewels of vocal chamber music is undoubtedly Johannes Brahms. The depth of his music, its uniquely rich harmonic language, philosophical intensity, and transcendent calm create an almost euphoric experience for listeners who are drawn into the depths of Brahms’ musical world.

This special program is presented by baritone Rihards Millers and pianist Ērika Millere, who have selected works by Brahms that captivate both through their melodic and harmonic beauty and through their wide range of imagery and moods.

The song cycle Die schöne Magelone is considered one of Brahms’ most beautiful and remarkable song cycles. It is performed relatively rarely worldwide, and especially seldom in Latvia.

This makes the concert a unique opportunity to experience the work in full – following the story of the Beautiful Magelone and immersing yourself in Brahms’ musical depths. The performance will be enriched by commentary from Orests Silabriedis.
