We will meet once again in autumn — traditionally on the last Saturday of September, the day after Aija Rimša’s birthday. This year marks the fourth consecutive time we gather at this special moment of the year — the season in which Aija was born and the season in which she left us, taken by a serious illness.

Singer, songwriter, and composer Aija Rimša was a true Latgalian through and through. Her songs could rejoice and laugh, ache and cry. That is why this concert will feature only Aija Rimša’s original songs — both the well-loved pieces familiar to audiences and rarely heard songs that have long remained in notebooks. Aija’s music will once again come to life through the voices of an outstanding ensemble of artists: Santa Kasparsone, Katrīna Dimanta, Aivars Lapšāns, Andris Daņiļenko, Roberts Ošiņš, and many special guests. The evening will also include beautiful and previously unheard duets.

Let us meet in autumn to listen once more to the most beautiful songs of the spirited and sensitive Aija Rimša and to mark the beginning of her sixth decade.
