As part of the scientific conference of the Latgale Culture and History Museum will be presented an express exhibition “130 Years of Latgale Ceramic Master Andrejs Paulāns”
The exhibition is dedicated to the renowned Latgalian potter Andrejs Paulāns (1896–1973), a representative of the Silajāņi pottery tradition. Visitors will have the opportunity to see his works – ceramic vessels, candlesticks, and decorative pieces from the museum’s collection. Andrejs Paulāns was an outstanding craftsman who transformed clay into true art. He combined the roles of a folk artisan and a professional artist, while remaining a simple and authentic person devoted to Latgale’s traditions.
The exhibition offers insight into the richness of Latgalian ceramics and the master’s creative legacy.
The exhibition is open from April 24, 2026, in the exhibition hall on the 3rd floor of the museum.
