Agra Ritiņa – painting exhibition “Dedication to inspiration – NATURE”

Artist Agra Ritiņa was born in Ludza, currently lives in Rēzekne and works at MIKC Latgale Mūzikas
and in art secondary school as a painting and drawing teacher. Known as a painter
association V.I.V.A. participant. Since 2000, she has held more than 20 personal exhibitions.
In 2020, she won the main prize in the competition “Jāzeps Pīgožnis award in Latvian landscape painting”.
Her painting is based on motifs seen in nature, captured in the changing landscape. Authors
inspires often unimportant details in a special light or mood for an ordinary passer-by. Those
grows into the main image of the composition, forming a unified whole in forms and colors. Painter
a lot of ideas come from driving a car. She calls them roadside solutions. “I am
grateful that we have so many trees and bushes on the roadsides in Latvia. They are fantastically beautiful
lumps,” says Agra Ritiņa. The artist’s vision was also influenced by her childhood in the countryside of Latgale
with lakes and wide fields. “It’s a good feeling to be a part of the Latgale art space, and this
