On 08.12.2024 at 17:00, the main Christmas tree of Rēzekne will be lit in the Festival park (Pils iela, 17).

The program of the event includes the concert “The Story of the Christmas Tree”. There will be  fairy-tale heroes and students of the city’s educational institutions, who will enliven the Festival Park with fun songs and games.

As songs are played and dances of miracles are conjured, bright lights will shine in the tree, which will bring joy to the heart of every passer-by throughout the holiday season.

As usual, during the event, a  market fair will be open, where artisans’ creations, farm products grown by farmers, as well as delicacies and gingerbread prepared by traders will be available. The smallest visitors  will be pleasantly surprised by the inhabitants of the “Animal Farm” and the possibility of riding a pony (starting at 15.00).

In the special “Santa’s house” you will be able to meet a very real Salateti. When you enter the lodge and recite the poem, you will receive a candy as a gift. If you want to receive a packet of sweets, you must first buy a coupon worth 3.50 euros from the gnome.
