From June 21, 2024 until the summer of 2025, the porcelain exhibition “ATTENTION! FRAGILE!”.
The exhibition exhibits more than 700 porcelain items from five private collectors – Gaidis Graudiņš, Vitālijs Ruskulis, Jānis Žugovs, Vilnis Bergmanis and Jānis Vigups. The exhibition reflects the development of the porcelain industry in the 20th century in Latvia, Europe and Tsarist Russia.
“ATTENTION! FRAGILE!” – this is the story of fine porcelain produced in the German factories Meissen, Rozental, Fasold & Stauch, the Danish factory Royal Copenhagen, the Gardner factory in Russia, the Kuznetsov family and Jessen factories in Riga, later – the Riga ceramics factory, the Riga porcelain factory, Riga porcelain and faience factory, Riga porcelain factory, etc. The largest part of the exhibition consists of small plastic works, or figures, created at different times in Riga porcelain factories. Special attention is devoted to the works of Latvian artists. See, get to know, admire, but remember – fragile!
